Enchanting Guide

Hi, good
. As you may know,
there are several primary professions from which to choose in
World of Warcraft. Enchanting is one such profession, and a
WoW Enchanting Guide is sure to help you learn
about this helpful craft. The profession itself is looked at
more closely elsewhere on the site.

It is no mystery that Azeroth is a violent world. Weapons
and armor are the only means of ultimate survival, but they
sometimes need a boost. Enchanters use their abilities to
enhance weapons and armor, increasing their effectiveness, such
as the ability to deliver more damage or withstand certain
spells.

Unlike other primary professions such as Blacksmithing,
Enchanting is not employed for the purpose of creating items.
Enchanting is employed for the betterment of existing items.
It’s kind of like the BASF corporation slogan, “We don’t make
most of the things you buy. We make the things you buy
better.”
Enchanting, as can hopefully be seen in this WoW Enchanting
Guide, is trickier than other professions. It requires the use
of ingredients that may only be obtained disenchanting other
magical objects. And because it is a higher-level profession,
more practice and repetition is necessary to improve the
skill.
In a sense, Enchanting is similar to experimenting. In order
to achieve increasing levels of skill, an Enchanter must either
cast repeated spells on friends’ equipment, sell enchantments,
or offer them free. Repeating spells on friends’ equipment may
seem redundant, but it is often necessary.
Enchantments below skill level 250 are considered low-level
and demand many expensive elements. Because they are low-level,
it is difficult to sell them, usually ending up as a loss for
the player. Others usually don’t even want them free. That is
why it is important to find a friendly player who allows you to
continuously cast spells on equipment. It’s the equivalent to
experimentation.
Items to disenchant can be found on your own or whilst on
quests lead to leveling, but it is a sluggish process. Buying
these things at the Auction House or receiving materials from
your friends or guild can greatly expedite the process. It is
generally not a good idea to farm these magical items,
rendering Enchanting a profession more suitable to players with
backup from a guild.
A WoW Enchanting Guide should help a player to be frugal in
his attempts to become an Enchanter. Go to the Auction House
and purchase underpriced items to disenchant. These will yield
materials that can be turned into higher valued enchantments,
rather than having to spend a lot of money for that particular
high-value enchantment.
With all this talk about disenchanting items, here are the
items that can disenchanted:
- Abyss Crystal
- Dust
- Essence
- Nexus Crystal
- Shard
- Void Crystal
Items that are deemed Legendary cannot be disenchanted. As
with many professions, it takes greater levels of skill
depending on the item to be disenchanted.
You probably don’t need a WoW Enchanting Guide to tell you
that this profession requires quite a bit of skill, but you
have seen that it is very beneficial when mastered.
I hope you've found this WoW Enchanting Guide helpful.
